How to Strengthen Your Muscles to Prevent a Hernia

When you develop a hernia, a portion of your intestine pushes through a weak spot in your abdominal wall. This often causes pain in and around the protrusions site, but you may also experience a pulling or dragging sensation near your groin. Strengthening your core muscles can sometimes help correct weaknesses, but you may also need to work other areas of the body that could be contributing to a risk of the condition. Talk to your doctor to determine whether any one of these exercises is appropriate for you.
