The city of Chicago is the most visited city in the Midwest with a wide assortment of attractions. Chicagoland is steeped in nightlife and dance clubs, many of which allow teens to attend. Whether you are looking for a place your teens can gain some dancing instruction or just cut loose at a fun and safe environment, the Windy City has it.

Downtown Venues

Just a few blocks away from Wrigley Field your teens can check out the Smart Bar. It has concert and deejay events that are open to teens 17 and older until 11:00 p.m. Another popular spot for teens to dance to a wide range of live music is the Vic. It is an old-style theatre that has been converted into a concert/dance hall. Many nationally-known artists perform at the Vic such as Jimmy Eat World. Most events are open to all ages.

Northwest Chicagoland

Located in the town of Elgin in northwestern part of the greater Chicago area is a club called Medusa's Elgin. It hosts regular dance parties for teens 14 to 16 years old. The club is airplane-themed with LED lighting throughout the facility. It also has dance parties for the 17 and older crowd, featuring a laser show and a giant dance floor. For a teen-only dance party, Club Starz in Arlington Heights provides a large event. For ages 14 to 18 only, it has hip-hop, techno, electro, mash-ups and progressive styles.

West Chicagoland

In Stone Park you will find a club called Energy Thursday Night Dance Club. Operating every Thursday night for ages 17 and up, it features numerous deejays, black light effects, laser shows and multi-level dance floors. Zero Gravity, further west in Naperville, claims to have the wildest teen dance party venue in the area. Admitting 16- to 23-year-olds only, it features a movable dance floor, foam parties, massive balloon drops, prize giveaways, live music performances, non-alcoholic beverages and state-of-the-art video, sound and lighting systems.

Dance Schools with Party Events

You may have teens who are interested in learning the art of dance before hitting the dance floor. All About Dance offers classes in dance for teens in hip-hop, jazz, dance explosion and ballet. The studio rents out its space for dance parties of all kinds. It would be an ideal safe place for the teens to have a party. At the Old Town School of Folk Music, your teens can attend one of its Global Dance Parties. It starts off with a instructional class teaching a selected dance style, then its time to try it out on the dance floor to live music from around the world. This event is for all ages.
