Lipo 6X is a popular dietary supplement that combines active ingredients such as caffeine, yohimbe, guggulsterones, synephrine and several others to increase the body's abilities to burn fat. Not enough studies have been done on side effects of Lipo 6X as a whole, but side effects still can be determined by examining the side effects of some of its active ingredients.

Caffeine

Caffeine is one active ingredient of Lipo 6X that has been well researched by many studies, including research on the potential side effects. According to the Mayo Clinic, side effects of the caffeine in Lipo 6X can include increased heart rate, nausea, increased urination, tremors, trouble sleeping and diarrhea. Regular use of caffeine also can result in dependence, which can cause withdrawal symptoms when you try to reduce caffeine intake.

Synephrine

Synephrine, also known as bitter orange, also has a list of potential side effects during use. Synephrine has become a popular substitute for ephedrine, a stimulant banned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as an over-the-counter dietary supplement. According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCAM), side effects of synephrine consumption can include high blood pressure, fainting, heart attack and stroke. The risks of these side effects increase when combined with caffeine.

Yohimbe

Yohimbe is another active ingredient in Lipo 6X, and it comes from the bark of the yohimbe tree. According to the NCAM, possible side effects of yohimbe include high blood pressure, increased heart rate, anxiety, dizziness, headaches and insomnia. Yohimbe can cause problems if combined with anti-psychotic medications, blood-pressure medications and monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors.
