Homemade Acne Scar Removal

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your pores become clogged with sebum, an oil produced by the sebaceous glands. This may cause the pores to swell into nodules, which may rupture and form open lesions. These lesions can lead to scarring if they fail to heal properly. You can use a variety of substances to treat acne scars at home. These treatments typically soften scar tissue or cause scars to fade.

Step 1

Wash your face. Apply topical treatments to your acne scars. Use a mild soap and rub your skin gently with a soft washcloth, rather than scrubbing your skin. Rinse the soap from your skin with warm water and dry it with a clean towel. Wash morning and evening.

Step 2

Slice open a lemon with a knife. Squeeze the juice into a small container. Add a cup of water to the lemon juice and stir the mixture thoroughly to dilute the lemon juice. Place a soft washcloth in the solution and squeeze out the excess liquid. Apply the washcloth to your acne scars for a few minutes each day. The acid in the lemon juice can cause acne scars to gradually fade.

Step 3

Apply rosehip seed oil. Lighten your acne scars with rosehip seed oil by applying a few drops to your fingertips and gently rubbing it into your acne scars twice a day. You can buy rosehip seed oil from health stores.

Step 4

Apply vitamin E. Cut a capsule open and rub the vitamin E oil onto your acne scars at least once per day. Vitamin E oil can also benefit other skin problems in addition to acne scars.

Step 5

Massage scars with olive oil. Buy extra virgin olive oil from a supermarket and rub it onto your acne scars up to five times each day. Continue this treatment with olive oil over a prolonged period to help your skin gradually heal.
