Half-Crown French Braid

Step 1: Create a side part. It doesn't matter which side, whatever feels more comfortable for you.

Step 2: Gather a small section of hair at the part and break it into three smaller sections.

Step 3: Wrap one outside section under the middle section and pull to the opposite side. Repeat with the other side.

Step 4: Pick up a small section of loose hair and add it to your front section.

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until your braid reaches the bottom of your ear.

Step 5: Once the braid reaches base of head, about two inches below the ear, combine your half crown French braid to the remainder of your hair. Split hair into three sections.

Step 6: Side braid the remainder of hair. Secure with a hair tie.

Simple Fishtail Braid

Step 1: Separate hair into two sections — piece A and piece B. (Note: For a tighter braid, you can begin by pulling your hair back into a ponytail and securing with an elastic.)

Step 2: Use your finger to separate a small section of your hair from the outer edge near the elastic of piece A and bring it over to the far side of piece B, overlapping just like you would if you were doing a standard braid.

Step 3: Take a small piece of hair from the far side of piece B and bring it over to the far side of piece A.

Continue this pattern with the remainder of your hair.

Step 4: When you get to the bottom. secure with an elastic.
