Simone Biles may look like she’s bringing sexy back on “Dancing with the Stars,” but she’d tell you that she’s not comfortable with it — yet. The gold medal gymnast recently wrapped up week one of competition on ABC’s hit show where she performed the sexy tango with partner Sasha Farber.

Biles has been keeping fans updated about her experience on the dance floor via a blog on People.com admitting what she’s found most challenging in her bid to win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

“This week we have cha-cha to Jessie J’s ‘Burning Up,’ and I’m finding it challenging. I’m supposed to be sexier in this dance, and that’s not something I’ve ever had to do before,” she writes. “Sasha has been really working with me to loosen up my body and to make sure I’m showing the emotion of the dance on my face.”

“Trying to be sexy is very different from what people are used to seeing from me, but I’m 20 and it’s been really interesting to explore a new side of myself. I hope everyone enjoys it tonight!”

Biles has openly discussed her journey to accepting that strong is sexy throughout the years and has even admitted she wore jackets to cover up her defined arms in the past. But she’s clearly come a long way since then, as has the acceptance from the public and media that strength is where it’s at.

Biles continues to be a healthy body-positivity example for women of all ages by dancing on the reality competition show. Though she may not know it yet, watching this muscular 20-year-old athlete gracefully dance with her partner in a stunning ball gown screams “strong is sexy.” Message received!
