When you are playing hockey, a proper net is essential to practice shooting goals as well as defending a goal. By following a few easy steps, you can make your own hockey net to use at home or in games. Your game will improve in no time.

Step 1

Use a hacksaw to cut one of the 10-foot pieces of PVC pipe into two 51-inch pieces. Cut the other pipe into two 40-inch pieces and two 20-inch pieces. The 20-inch pieces will be used to form the sides of the goal; the 40-inch pieces will be used to form the bottom of the goal, which be be lying flat on the ground. The two 51-inch pieces will be used to connect the two sides of the goal. There will be 18 inches of leftover PVC pipe--this can be discarded, or you can use it for another project.

Step 2

Use the elbow connectors to connect the 20-inch pieces to the 40-inch pieces. Slide the hockey net onto one of the sides of the PVC pipe.

Step 3

Put an elbow connector onto one of the ends of a 20-inch piece. Connect a 51-inch piece, and slide the hockey net over. Place another elbow connector to the other 20-inch piece, and put into the other end of the 51-inch piece. Continue sliding the hockey net onto the PVC frame--the net will contain small hoops, which can slide over the PVC pipes. Repeat this process on the 40-inch pieces.

Step 4

Continue sliding the hockey net onto the PVC frame, until it is securely in place.

Things You'll Need

  • 2 10-foot pieces of PVC pipe
  • 6 elbow connectors
  • Hacksaw
  • Replacement hockey net
