Ventolin (aka Albuterol) is an inhaled medication that is often prescribed for people with lung diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema. Ventolin prevents the bronchial tubes from spasming and tightening up and relieve wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. Common Side Effects
Common side effects of Ventolin are fast, irregular and racing pulse and shaking in the legs and arms. Trembling of the hands and feet can also be a symptom. Swelling of the face, mouth and throat are all possible. These symptoms can be severe. If they persist, you should seek medical attention immediately.
Less Common Side Effects
Less common side effects of Ventolin include chest pain or discomfort. Difficulty breathing, swallowing and shortness of breath are all possible side effects. Rare side effects of Ventolin include dry mouth, insomnia, and anxiety. Hives and skin rashes are also possible. Loss of appetite, nausea and diarrhea may be possible. These side effects are rarely severe, but if they persist you should keep track of the severity and duration and report it to a physician.
