Herbs have been used for centuries to stimulate breast growth. In antiquity, breastfeeding mothers turned to medicinal herbs as a solution to low breast milk supply. Today, herbs are increasingly popular among women seeking breast growth for cosmetic reasons. The use of breast-enlarging herbs is controversial. Mayo Clinic physician Sandhya Pruthi notes that there is no compelling evidence to support the notion that they work. Do not take any breast-enhancing herb for a prolonged period of time without first consulting your health care provider.

Fennel

A study published in the "Journal of Ethnopharmacology" concluded that fennel effectively stimulates production of the hormone estrogen, which is directly involved in breast growth. The aromatic essential oil of this plant can be applied directly to the breasts. Understand that estrogenic herbs like fennel may theoretically reduce the risk of breast cancer if they are used for extended periods of time.

Blessed Thistle

A bitter-tasting medicinal herb, blessed thistle is completely free of estrogen-like compounds. It may enhance breast growth by triggering the body's response to prolactin, a hormone involved in breast milk production. The U.S. National Institutes of Health note that blessed thistle is generally safe when taken for short periods of time.

Fenugreek

According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, fenugreek is widely recommended as a treatment for diabetes and low breast milk supply. Fenugreek is associated with few side effects; it is commonly used as a seasoning and table vegetable in southern Asia.
