Goaltender pads protect the goalie from pucks flying at him at high speeds. Goalies often fall onto the ice in order to stop the puck. A goalie must make sure that his pads are tied correctly.
Step 1
Place the goalie pads flat on the ground with the inside facing up
Step 2
Criss-cross the bottom lace of the pad through the bottom of your skate. The pad should be on the floor in front of you and your skate flat on the ground
Step 3
Bring the laces up over your skate and tie them over the top of the boot.
Step 4
Kneel on the pads in the leg indentations and tie the buckles from the bottom up. The buckles should be fastened tight enough so that the pad does not move when your leg moves, but loose enough that it is not uncomfortable.
Tips and Warnings
- Make sure that the buckle on each goalie pad is facing the outside.
