Snowboarding rails allow snowboarders to practice their jumps, twists, and turns. By following a few basic instructions, you can build your own snowboard rail at home. You'll be racing down the hill in no time.
Step 1
Locate a good place for the rail. Ideally, this should be place halfway down a large slope, so there is adequate time to build speed. Ensure there is enough room for other skiers and snowboarders to pass by freely.
Step 2
Set up the bike rail vertically with the hill, making sure the rack faces downhill.
Step 3
Place dirt or sand in the burlap sacks, and set them next to the sides of the bike rack. Pile the sacks until they reach two feet from the top of the rack, and then make a gradual incline to the ground, forming a slope.
Step 4
Use the burlap sacks to form on and off ramps. The ramps should not be more than 30 degrees, providing a gentle slope.
Step 5
Cover the ramp in snow. Pack the snow solidly, and smooth.
