Football visors are typically used by experienced football players to prevent glare from the sun or stadium lights. Before putting a football visor on your helmet, check the guidebook of the league you are participating in--visors are often prohibited in recreational, youth and high school leagues. If you are allowed to wear a visor, you can attach one to your helmet with relative ease.
Step 1
Unscrew the nuts and screws that hold the face mask to the helmet. Set the face mask to the side.
Step 2
Place the eye shields of the visor into the major field of vision in the helmet. Insert the tabs on the right and left side of the visor into the helmet and place the face mask back into its original position.
Step 3
Line up the screw holes of the helmet, face mask and visor, and tighten the nuts and bolts securely back into place.
Tips and Warnings
- All visors attach to helmets in the same manner, although the size of the screws can vary.
