Regular exercise should be part of any treatment regimen for fighting cellulite. Exercise helps increase metabolism, which burns off fat cells in your body and can make you look toned and healthier in general. Anaerobic exercises that focus on the thighs, hips and buttocks target cellulite in these specific areas by converting fat into muscle. Leg curls and squats help tone cellulite in the thighs and buttocks. Strengthening muscles also aids in maintaining skin tone.
Diet and Nutrition
Even though eating a nutritious diet can help you maintain a healthy weight and keep off excess pounds in the fight against cellulite, as indicated by the U.S. Library of Medicine, lean individuals can sometimes be affected as well. Eat a high-fiber, low-fat diet to reduce the look of cellulite. The nutrients contained in fruits and vegetables are also effective in fighting cellulite. Eat vegetables raw or steamed to get the most nutritional value. Choose fruits such as berries that are high sources of anti-oxidants. Include natural diuretics like celery, cucumber, asparagus and watermelon in your diet. These foods help fight fluid retention, as increased water retention can make cellulite appear worse. Citrus fruits high in vitamin C help promote healthy collagen.
