There is no scientific evidence that natural gallbladder cleanses work, according to the Mayo Clinic. In fact, the Mayo Clinic warns that gallbladder cleanses can cause abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. This is especially true of the stricter cleansing programs or when supplements are involved. Because the liver and gallbladder are actively connected, a cleanse usually involves working on both organs.

Step 1

Talk to your doctor before attempting a natural gallbladder cleanse, especially if you suspect a problem (such as gallstones) or if you're taking medications or suffering from a health condition. If your doctor gives you the okay to try a natural approach, do so carefully and start at the lowest possible dosage of any cleanser or supplements, so you can control the side effects.

Step 2

Restrict yourself to raw foods and juices for at least three days. Avoid processed foods as much as possible. Apple juice is recommended by Healing Cancer Naturally because it can help soften gallstones and help them pass out more easily. Drink juice for at least two weeks, even if you're still eating your regular diet.

Step 3

Prepare a mix of olive oil, orange or grapefruit juice and lemon. Shake well and drink before going to bed. Lie down on your right side and try to keep still as much as possible.

Step 4

Prepare an Epsom salt drink using ¾ cup Epsom salts and ¾ cup cold water. Mix well until the salts have dissolved completely. Drink the mix four hours before your olive oil treatment and then prepare another glass and drink two hours before bedtime. Repeat in the morning, as soon as you wake up. Don't eat breakfast for at least two hours after that.

Things You'll Need

  • Apple juice
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup natural orange or grapefruit juice
  • Juice of a whole lemon
  • ¾ cup Epsom salts
  • ¾ cup cold water
