Neem Concentrate is a gardening product made available through the Green Light Company. It uses neem oil extract to get rid of insects that could be harming your garden. It also works to control the spread of plant diseases, such as mildew, rust and leaf spot. You can purchase Neem Concentrate from a nursery or gardening supplier. When not in use, store at room temperature.

Step 1

Mix 1 gallon of water with 1 oz. of Neem Concentrate. Place the mixture in a sprayer after it has been well blended. For optimal results, do not use very cold water with the Neem Concentrate.

Step 2

Test the Neem Concentrate on a small area of your garden before using the product on a widespread area to ensure that it does not adversely affect your plant life. Wait two days and then apply to the desired treatment area.

Step 3

Spray the mixture evenly on the affected areas of your garden until the plant life has been saturated with the pesticide. As you spray, frequently shake the solution to keep it well-mixed.

Step 4

Determine the appropriate treatment schedule. If you are using the product to prevent infestation, you can apply every 14 days. For current infestation or disease, apply on a seven-day schedule until any plant disease has been eliminated.

Tips and Warnings

  • According to the manufacturer, Neem Concentrate is acceptable for use on trees, vegetable plants, herbs, spices and fruits. Apply Neem Concentrate during the early morning or late afternoon. This time is ideal because it is a resting period for many types of insects. Do not use during periods of high sun.
  • Don't allow any children or animals to be near the treated areas until the solution has completely dried. Neem Concentrate is toxic to bees and aquatic life.
