A body wrap entails applying a mix of ingredients to the body, then wrapping in a towel or sheet to get warm and allow the wrap ingredients to soak into the skin. This can tighten skin, improve circulation and reduce the appearance of cellulite. A body wrap performed at a spa can be time-consuming and expensive, but it is possible to use a variety of natural and readily accessible ingredients in order to make a body wrap at home.

Clay Wrap

Step 1

Boil 8 cups of water in a large pot.

Step 2

Add 2 cups of green clay, 1 cup of Epsom salt and 1 cup of powdered lavender or chamomile.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon until they form a thick paste.

Step 4

Apply the mixture to your body using a paintbrush. Wrap yourself in a large towel or sheet and lie down for 30 minutes before rinsing off the wrap.

Herbal Tea Wrap

Step 1

Fill your sink with hot water.

Step 2

Add 1 cup of herbs, such as lavender or ginger, to the sink. You can also add five to seven tea bags in place of the herbs. Wait five minutes while the herbs or tea bags steep in the hot water.

Step 3

Soak two towels or a sheet in the water. Wring out the towels or sheet and then wrap them around your body.

Step 4

Relax for 30 minutes, then remove the towels or sheet and rinse your skin with cool water.

Avocado Wrap

Step 1

Cut one avocado in half and remove the pit and skin.

Step 2

Place the avocado flesh into a blender along with 1 cup of heavy cream and ¼ cup of aloe vera gel. Blend the mixture thoroughly until it reaches the consistency of a thick paste.

Step 3

Apply the mixture to your skin with a paintbrush. Lie down and cover your body with a towel or sheet.

Step 4

Rinse the wrap off after 30 minutes.

Lemon and Honey Wrap

Step 1

Extract the juice of half a lemon using a juicer. Add the lemon juice to a bowl.

Step 2

Add 5 tbsp. of honey and 2 tbsp. of sea salt to the bowl.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients. Apply the mixture to your skin using a paintbrush, then lie down and cover up with a sheet or towel.

Step 4

Rinse the wrap off your skin after 30 minutes.

Tips and Warnings

  • Open your pores and exfoliate your skin before using a body wrap for best results. Try taking a warm bath or shower and scrubbing your skin with an exfoliating wash or brush. Keep a glass of room temperature nearby while you are relaxing with your body wrap. Use a straw to drink from the glass whenever you feel too warm. You can light candles, burn essential oils and play soft music in order to make the body wrap experience more relaxing.
