The hardflip is an airborne skateboard trick based on the ollie. If you can execute a solid kickflip that rotates the board 360 degrees along its length and a pop shove-it that rotates the board on its center 180 degrees, you're more likely to master the hardflip, which is a combination of the two. Some think the trick looks better performed between your legs when you're airborne.
Step 1
Place your rear foot where the tail and deck of the board meet and in a little toward the inside edge. Position this foot so that you will get plenty of down force when you pop the board. Position your front foot behind the front bolts and toward the inside edge.
Step 2
While rolling, pop the board to get airborne and shove the back end of the board out with your rear foot as you would with a pop shove-it. At the same time, flick the inside edge of the board downward with your front foot as in a kickflip.
Step 3
Jump backward a bit while executing this move to get under the board when landing. Allow the board to 180 on its center. It will flip up on the outside edge, then down again.
Step 4
As the board deck becomes visible, position your feet over the board again. Land the trick with both feet evenly spaced and centered on the deck.
