Exercise often is overlooked in a day filled with chores, activities and homework, but making time for it is as simple as turning on the television. Fitness videos provide a convenient way to work out with your children at home. Choose videos geared toward children, as regular fitness videos may be too advanced. Included in kids' fitness videos are music your children will enjoy, moves for appropriate age levels and relaxation methods for children. Teach your children to enjoy exercise and fitness at home, and don't be afraid to join in the fun.

School House Hop

"School House Hop" incorporates hip-hop dance steps and stretching in an introductory hip-hop video for children ages 5 to 14. Led by Roger G and a diverse group of children, the moves are broken down into simple steps for beginners. Kids finish the video with a routine made of the learned dance steps. The program is approximately 45 minutes in length and includes a child-appropriate warm-up.

Get Fit Kids

Designed for children ages 2 to 7, "Get Fit Kids" provides safe and effective exercises combined with colors, animated characters and sing-along lyrics. Kids perform movements such as "big arms," "swim like a fish," bicep curls and side lunges alongside a cartoon bear. "Get Fit Kids" also includes a proper cool-down and healthy eating tips. According to an evaluation and review by Ohio Action for Healthy Kids, "Get Fit Kids" keeps kids engaged and energized, and is best for young age groups.

6 Fit Kids Workouts

"6 Fit Kids Workouts," previously known as "Fit Kids Classroom Workout," is made up of four five-minute workout segments and two 10-minute segments. Kids Walk

Leslie Sansone, veteran fitness instructor and creator of the Walk at Home program, has developed the first walk-at-home workout for kids. Created for 3- to 9-year-olds, the workout is simple enough for any child to complete. Besides walking, exercise steps include marching, kicking and side-stepping. The workout begins with basic walking and moves up to more advanced steps with optional hand weights.

YogaKids

"YogaKids," developed for children ages 3 and up, focuses on increasing strength, flexibility and balance while incorporating playful stretches imitating dogs, flamingos and trees.
