Ways to Slim Down Your Face

If you carry a lot of weight in the face, it can make you look much heavier than you actually are. If you begin a diet and exercise plan, you can lose weight anywhere on the body, including the facial area.

Reduced Calorie Diet

The most effective way to slim down any part of the body is to reduce the number of calories you consume. Track the calories you eat on a day-to-day basis in a food journal. Go over the food diary and trim back at least 250 to 500 calories per day. With a 500-calorie reduction, you'll lose an average of a pound per week.

Calcium

The Good Housekeeping website states that consuming at least 1,200 mg of calcium on a daily basis can lead to an overall greater loss of body fat. Calcium should be obtained from food and can be found in high amounts in cheese, milk, green leafy vegetables, yogurt and orange juice. If you are concerned you are not getting enough calcium from food sources, supplements are available.

Facial Yoga

According to Time magazine, facial yoga is a form of exercise that focuses on tightening and toning the muscles in the face. During the routines, you make a series of facial expressions to work out the face. For instance, Lion Face is a pose that involves squeezing all of the muscles in your face simultaneously and holding the pose for 60 seconds. As you release, exhale and stick out your tongue and roll your eyes. Repeat the move three times on a daily basis.

Cut Out Salt

Avoid foods that cause you to retain water. Salty foods have a tendency to make a person look bloated. Limit foods high in sodium, such as table salt, processed meals, canned vegetables, lunch meat and fast food.
