Tight face muscles help provide a solid foundation for the skin of the face, helping individuals maintain a fresh, youthful looking appearance. Tight and toned facial muscles also help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, forehead and mouth, according to Fitness Health Zone. In addition, increased circulation to the face helps provide oxygen and nutrients that keep muscles and skin healthy. Reducing baggy skin, puffy eyes and sagging jowls can be achieved through a variety of daily exercises designed to tighten the face.

Thumb Suck

Tighten the muscles around the mouth, reducing the depth of sunken lips and nasolabial folds that extend from the nose down along the side of the mouth, by literally sucking your thumb. Place your thumb in your mouth and suck inward, suggests Fitness Health Zone. While trying to suck inward, gently pull the thumb from the mouth. You'll feel this exercise not only in the lips, but the cheeks and under the chin, tightening and toning all the muscles around the mouth. Repeat this exercise several times a day.

Smooth Cheeks

Place the middle three fingers of each hand on your cheeks to prevent sagging cheeks, suggests Fitness Health Zone. With the fingers on the cheek just below the cheekbone, gently pull the cheeks downward. At the same time, smile big, resisting the pressure of your fingers. Hold the contraction for about 5 seconds and then release. You can do this exercise up to 10 times a day.

Baggy Eyelids

Work the muscles around the eye and firm the eyelids, reduce under-eye puffiness and bags and give your eyes an effective workout. Open the mouth wide and smile, suggests Gary Sikorski, facial Yoga expert and creator of Happy Face Yoga. Pull the upper lip inward to cover your upper teeth. Then, while holding this pose, squint. Place the middle fingers of your hands under the lower eyelids, just over the upper cheekbone. Gently but firmly, pull downward and try to tightly close the eyes. You should really feel this exercise just under the eyes. Slowly open and close the eyes 10 times, maintaining the downward pressure.

Lion Pose

The Lion Pose may make you look silly, but provides an effective and all-over facial muscle tightening exercise. You can do this pose by kneeling on the floor, hands on your thighs and back straight. Open your mouth as wide as you can, pulling the jaw downward while sticking the tongue out and down. Open the eyes wide and look upward, suggests Yoga Journal. Spread the fingers wide and tighten all the muscles in your face, neck and arms. If you need to relieve stress, go ahead and roar a few times. Repeat this exercise two to three times.
