Biotone is a maker of spa and massage personal care products. Massage oils and creams are examples of items they produce in bulk containers meant for masseuses and professional spa workers. They also consistently introduce new items for a wide variety of therapy techniques. While their product line is vast, there are some ingredients that are found in many of their products.
Aloe
Both cold-pressed aloe vera oil and aloe vera are listed in their ingredients. Aloe vera is in products like the Clear Results Massage Oil, while cold-pressed aloe vera oil is found in items like Deep-Tissue massage Lotion, Herbal Select Face Therapy Lotion and the Dual Purpose Massage Crème. Aloe binds moisture in to the skin and hydrates it. Some components of aloe may promote healing in wounds, but more test studies are needed to support that claim.
Coconut Oil Ester
Coconut oil ester (Octyl palmitate) is found in products such as the Advanced Therapy Massage Gel and the Advanced Therapy Massage Lotion. It is a thickener and emollient. Emollients will soften the skin and make it more supple in appearance, while thickeners will bulk up a product, preventing it from being watery or thin.
Apricot Oil
Apricot oil is the pressed oil from apricot seed. It is in Biotone products such as the Herbal Select Foot Therapy Lotion, Advance Therapy Crème and the Advanced Therapy Massage Gel and Lotion. It is a natural moisturizing agent and finely textured. Apricot oil is categorized as an emollient, keeping skin smooth without an oily or greasy texture. It can smooth skin from irritation and inflammation.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant in a wide array of personal care products. For Biotone, it is found in items like the Nutri-naturals Light Massage Oil, the Revitalizing Massage Oil and the Advanced Therapy Gel. It is a fighter of free radical skin damage like all antioxidants. Free radical damage occurs as a byproduct of the normal metabolism of oxygen. Vitamin E can protect against UV-induced damage and works well in sunblock products.
