Drugstores and pharmacies offer a dizzying array of creams, pills and strange zapping machines that claim to get rid of pimples overnight. Those claims may be true, but the products can be costly and you may not have access to them when you need them. You can use ingredients from your kitchen and bathroom to get rid of a pimple fast, without spending a ton of cash or driving to the store.

Step 1

Wash your skin with a mild hypo-allergenic cleanser and pat dry with a towel. If you normally use a toner and moisturizer, apply those.

Step 2

Apply a small dab of toothpaste to the pimple.

Step 3

Allow the toothpaste to remain on the pimple overnight. If needed, you can cover it with a small piece of tape or a bandage so it doesn't rub off.

Step 4

Rinse the toothpaste off in the morning with cool water.

Step 5

Take an ice cube from the freezer and apply it to the pimple for a few minutes if there is any swelling remaining.

Step 6

Apply a few drops of redness-reducing eye drops to the area if there is any remaining redness.

Tips and Warnings

  • Tea tree oil, zinc and glycolic acid are effective natural remedies for acne, according to the Mayo Clinic (see Resources).
