The types of products you use on your skin, how you treat your skin and the state of the environment sometimes causes facial skin disorders. A skin problem can remain with you for many years if left untreated, and some skin problems can escalate into a more serious skin condition if ignored. Use a home remedy to treat your facial skin disorder if you have problem skin. Home remedies can be effective when carried out correctly.
Dry Skin Disorders
Remedy a dry skin disorder using products that will moisturize your skin. Avoid using drying skin care products that contain alcohol, and stay out of dry atmospheres. Do not use cosmetics that can dry out your skin. Wash your face with a moisturizing cleanser before bedtime, apply an alcohol-free toner to your skin after cleansing it, and moisturize your skin with a moisturizer that contains sweet almond oil, rose oil or aloe vera. Use gentle and stimulating upward strokes when applying a moisturizer to encourage the sebaceous glands to produce more oil, and work the moisturizer into the skin while the skin is still moist to lock in moisture. Apply a mask to dry skin once or twice a week, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Oily Skin Disorders
Treat oily skin by washing it in the morning and at night with a cleanser designed for oily skin. Wipe the skin after cleansing it with a toner that contains alcohol, and apply a moisturizer made for oily skin. Draw impurities out of the skin by applying a clay mask to the face once a week or more. Treat minor breakouts by steaming the skin for about 5 minutes with warm, wet towels. Wrap the fingertips with cotton strips moistened with astringent and apply pressure to the area around each pimple or blackhead, using the fingertips to extract the contents of the pimple or blackhead. Keep hair clean so oils from the scalp do not touch the face and create blemishes. Do not touch your face, unless it is necessary.
Combination Skin Disorders
Correct a combination skin disorder by treating the problem areas on the face separately. Cleanse the face with a gentle cleanser, but use a toner for oily skin on the oily skin areas of the face and a toner for dry skin on the dry skin areas. Apply a corresponding moisturizer to these areas as well. Use an appropriate facial mask on the oily skin areas and the dry skin areas.
Rosacea Skin Disorders
Control a rosacea skin disorder by avoiding foods that exacerbate rosacea symptoms. Do not drink hot or alcoholic beverages, and avoid eating foods that are spicy. Stay out of excessively hot or cold environments, and avoid the sun. Try to avoid stress, and meditate when you do feel stressed. Wash your face daily with soap that contains seabuckthorn oil. Follow the directions printed on the soap's package label, and use it accordingly to get rid of the skin redness associated with rosacea and to keep rosacea under control.
