1. Vary Your Meat
Eating six servings of protein a day means that you have ample opportunity to balance your protein on the Body for Life Diet. The types of protein on the approved list for this diet are varied. Fish, wild game, poultry, red meat and dairy are all included in the list. By eating a different type of protein at each of the six meals is a very good way to vary your protein on this diet. In one day, you could eat a serving of salmon, crab, chicken breast, lean ham, egg whites and buffalo. This will give you different types of proteins. It is important that you stick to the fist sized portion size for each of your six choices. This will ensure that your proteins are as balanced as possible.
2. Go Vegetarian
The Body for Life Diet includes a list of proteins approved for vegetarians. This doesn't mean that only vegetarians can eat the foods on this list. You can add vegetarian proteins to your plan to get a different type of protein, such as soy protein. To do this, you can simply replace one or two servings of regular protein for vegetarian proteins. Tofu, veggie burgers and soy-based foods are some of the choices on the vegetarian protein list. By adding a vegetarian protein choice to your menu, you will also add variety to your diet. This may make the program easier to stick to for the entire twelve weeks.
3. Consider Every Food You Eat
On the Body for Life Diet, you eat six servings of protein a day. In addition to this, you eat six servings of carbohydrates, two servings of vegetables and one to two tablespoons of healthy fat. It is important to remember that some of these choices will include additional protein. For example, an avocado, which is a healthy fat, contains three grams of protein. You can use the carbohydrates, vegetables and healthy fats in your menu to balance the protein in your diet.
4. Supplement Your Program
Bill Phillips, founder of the Body for Life diet also founded EAS. This company sells nutritional supplements. Company representatives recommended that you use some of their supplements to compliment your diet. Myoplex, one of the supplements that EAS sells, contains whey protein. Adding the protein rich supplements to your program is a very good way to balance your proteins by adding a different type of protein to your plan.
