You are also agreeing to have one phone consultation per week with an HMR Health Educator. Both of these activities motivate you to stick to the program. You can also use these opportunities to ask any questions that you may have about the program or to get tips on how to make the program better for you.
2. Follow the Program
On the HMR Healthy Solutions Diet plan, you will eat mostly foods that come from the HMR program. The program stipulates that you drink three HMR shakes and eat two HMR entrées and five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. There is very little room for substitutions in this plan. It is very important that you make sure that you have the food items available at all times that are necessary to do the program as stated.
3. Vary Fruits and Vegetables
When you are following the HMR Healthy Solutions diet program, you get to pick five servings of fruits and vegetables to eat every day. It is important that you pick different fruits and vegetables to eat so that you get a variety of nutrients. That is to say that, while you can, it is best to avoid eating all five servings of the same thing such as five servings of carrots. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables means that you pick different color vegetables and fruits such as red, yellow and green.
4. Drink Up
Staying hydrated is very important when you are doing the HMR Healthy Solutions Diet. The shakes that you drink aren't enough to keep you properly hydrated. In order to avoid dehydration, you must drink eight glasses of any non-caloric drink every day. Water is a good choice. It is important to make sure that you are choosing beverages that don't contain calories because, on this program, added calories means slower weight loss and possibly even weight gain.
5. Exercise
Starting a good exercise program is essential to doing the HMR Healthy Solutions Diet program. This program is designed to help you learn healthy habits, including doing regular exercise. It is important to remember that the exercise you choose doesn't have to be strenuous. Walking and yoga are two good options to compliment this diet program. You can do things like strength training if you want to but, keep in mind that an aggressive strength training program may add pounds while reducing inches. Make sure that you check with your doctor before you start an exercise program.
