Packing for any trip can be a daunting task, but making sure you have everything for that exciting scuba diving trip can be even more difficult. Scuba diving requires many supplies and accessories, and no one wants to arrive at the dive sight only to discover they're missing an essential piece of equipment. Go over your checklist after you're done packing to make sure you have everything you need to make your next diving trip a success.
Essentials
The most essential part of any scuba trip is your oxygen. Pack plenty of tanks in accordance with how many dives you'll be making, along with enough tubes and regulators in case some go out on you. Make sure to pack a fog-free mask to help you see underwater, as well as a wetsuit, swimming fins and a snorkel to help save oxygen when you're up at the surface. Consider packing a weight belt to help you get down to your underwater destination faster, as well as a dive table for the area you'll be diving in. This will help you know what areas to explore and dangerous areas to avoid.
Safety Equipment
Make sure you have all the essential safety equipment in case you run into danger. A first aid kit is essential for cuts and bruises caused by diving, as is an emergency oxygen kit to take with you underwater in case your tank fails. Pack plenty of sunscreen and a hat and shirt to cover up your skin while you are on the boat. The reflection of the sun off the water can magnify the sun's rays and make sunburn a quick nuisance.
Miscellaneous Gear
It's easy to forget the optional stuff, but add it to your list in case you need it somewhere along your dive. Be sure to pack a knife with a sheath if you're going to be collecting underwater samples, as well as bags to put your collections in. An underwater camera is essential if you want to bring home pictures of your adventures. If you're going to be diving at night, make sure to pack a strong underwater light. This is essential to not only navigating underwater, but finding your way back to the boat when it's time to resurface.
