Workout DVDs offer an alternative way to exercise at home without the gym. You can find workout videos for almost any genre of fitness. Some examples are kickboxing, strength training, Pilates and even yoga. They are a great way to try out new activities and are often very affordable.

This high-intensity workout will get your heart rate up fast. This video set is a must for those looking to lose a few pounds. This workout blends martial arts and aerobics, and also includes a sculpting bar. The set comes with five DVDs so that you can have variety in your routine.

Jillian Michaels: The Complete Workout for Beginners

This workout takes you through all the major strength moves. It teaches exercisers proper form, but also keeps the workouts challenging and fun. You will need a set of dumbbells. Two DVDs come in the set. You will do strength moves and cardio in a circuit format. Modifications are given so that you can increase difficulty as your fitness improves. This video is appropriate for intermediate exercisers as well.

Instructor Leslie Sansone is motivating and inspirational. She combines simple steps set to upbeat music to help keep you moving. This workout provides cardiovascular and weight loss benefits, and is appropriate for exercisers at all levels. Over the course of 45 minutes, you will have walked the equivalent of 3 miles.
