The goji plant served as a form of natural health care to the Himalayans, who introduced its healing qualities to such nations as Tibet, India and China. Researchers discovered that the berry is packed with an abundance of vitamins, minerals, protein, amino acids, antioxidants and essential fats. The dense presence of antioxidants helps slow the appearance of aging. The amino acids and minerals in goji juice boost the immune system. A report published by the State Scientific and Technological Commission of China showed that after eating 50 grams of goji berry per person, subjects showed an increase in white blood cell counts and an increase of 75 percent in immune-boosting antibodies. Research at the University of Hong Kong found that goji berry might include properties for the prevention of Alzheimer's disease. The berry also contains polysacharrides that help maintain healthy glucose levels and encourage healthy liver function. Including goji juice in your nutrition plan should improve the overall health of your body.

Misconceptions

Himalayan goji juice is popular for its many healthy benefits, but should not be used as a sole source of nutrients. Though it is packed with many of the nutrients that your body needs, it cannot substitute for the benefit of a healthy, well balanced diet. It should be enjoyed in addition to a diet that includes foods containing vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients.
