Bragg produces an organic apple cider vinegar is that is raw, unheated, unfiltered and unpasteurized. Apple cider vinegar has been used to promote health since the time of Hippocrates. Bragg advises that you can soothe irritated skin and relieve muscle pain incurred by exercising with its apple cider vinegar. The product has other possible benefits that lead nationally known nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman to recommend that you consume up to 2 tsp. daily.

Nutrients

Raw, unpasteurized varieties of apple cider vinegar such as Bragg's provide you with valuable nutrients, advises Jonny Bowden in his book, "The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth." It has minerals phosphorus, potassium and silicon as well as powerful enzymes.

Metabolism

Apple cider vinegar's main ingredient, acetic acid, stimulates your metabolism, according to Gittleman's "The Fat Flush Foods." It also helps eliminate fat by creating a good chemical balance in the body.

Insulin Sensitivity

Apple cider vinegar may help you if you suffer from type 2 diabetes or want to prevent this condition, according to a study published in the American Diabetes Association journal "Diabetes Care." The authors found that vinegar can significantly improve insulin sensitivity in people who are insulin-resistant. Apple cider vinegar, in fact, might even produce physiological effects that are similar to metaformin, the generic name for a drug that may be prescribed if you are diabetic or prediabetic to increase insulin sensitivity. Before you try this remedy, however, be aware that the study authors note the need for further research into the subject.

Food Poisoning

You can give apple cider vinegar a try if you suffer food poisoning. This traditional remedy has not been studied scientifically, cautions the University of Maryland Medical Center, which also notes that apple cider vinegar might have antimicrobial properties. To use it for this purpose, mix 2 tsp. vinegar into 1 cup warm water. Drink it several times a day. You suffer food poisoning when you eat food that's contaminated with bacteria or other types of toxins. You'll start to see symptoms between four and 36 hours later. These often include vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramps.

Other Benefits

Gittleman lists several other benefits you might enjoy via apple cider vinegar. It contains enzymes that help develop healthy protein in your body, as well as pectin, a fiber that can "scrape" cholesterol off your blood vessel walls. It also cleanses and tones your digestive tract, boosts your circulation and gives your skin a "healthy sheen."
