Working out is a proven way to lose weight and get in shape. However, there are some workouts that burn more calories than others, leading to faster weight loss. Eat a healthy diet and get proper nutrition while on any weight loss plan. Be sure to consult a doctor before beginning any exercise program.

Fitness Boot Camp

One of the fastest ways to lose weight is to join a fitness boot camp. This is great for those who are looking for something different, outside of the gym. Many of the programs are held outdoors. Plan to do athletic drills, weight lifting, and stretching. Each session can burn between 500 and 1,000 calories.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing, or Mixed Martial Arts, delivers great cardio and toning benefits. The workouts keep the heart rate up throughout the entire class by punching, kicking and maybe even jumping rope. Many even provide abdominal training at the end of class. Expect to burn between 500 and 1,000 calories per class.

Spinning®

Spinning®, or group cycling classes, is a great way to burn a lot of calories and lose weight fast. In this class, you are on a stationary bike, led by an instructor who is playing loud music and doing his best to motivate riders to keep the intensity high. The lights are often dimmed and the workouts are often intense. Plan to burn between 600 and 1,000 calories per workout.
