Cellulite is a huge problem for the majority of women. According to an article from ABC News, almost 90 percent of women in the U.S. deal with the unsightly appearance of cellulite. Cellulite appears mostly on the hips, thighs, buttocks and abdomen. There are different ways to approach cellulite reduction, including surgical procedures and natural treatments.

Liposuction and Lipodissolve

Invasive treatments for cellulite reduction include liposuction and lipodissolve. These treatments are surgical in nature and involve either incisions or injections in the affected areas. Because these treatments are administered by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist, they are more costly than other treatments. Liposuction is the only method that is scientifically proven to permanently remove fat cells, according to The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS),but cellulite can return. Lipodissolve injections are medicated injections that melt away unwanted fat in small localized areas. According to The ASAPS, infection, disfiguring masses of inflamed tissue and tissue death can occur after lipodissolve, especially when the procedure is performed by someone who is not specially trained. When choosing a doctor, do research and review his credentials, training, education, types of certification, and how many times he has performed the specific treatment. All invasive or surgical procedures have contraindications, so consult your primary physician before treatment.

Exercise

There are many natural treatments that provide a reduction in the appearance cellulite. One of the best natural cures for cellulite is exercise. Reducing overall body fat can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. In an article on MSNBC, Len Kravitz, the coordinator of exercise science at the University of New Mexico says, "minimizing bodily fat while enhancing muscle firmness, especially in the legs, is the best approach,"

Far-Infrared Sauna

Far-infrared sauna has been shown to reduce the appearance of cellulite. According to Evolution Health, fat becomes water-soluble at a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit before it begins to dissolve and enter the bloodstream to be removed from the body. In a far-infrared sauna, the therapeutic temperature falls between 100-130 degrees, and fat is removed through sweating and an increase in overall circulation. Far-infrared saunas also help to stimulate blood circulation, which aids in cellulite reduction as well.

Endermologie

Endermologie is a natural treatment that works great in conjunction with an exercise program or alone. Endermologie is fully patented in the United States. The treatment uses rollers to massage the underlying layers of skin and suction to redistribute skin and reduce dimpling on the skin's surface.
