Whether you're suffering from fear, uncertainty, disinterest in your current circumstances, exhaustion or are just lonely, Bach flower therapy offers a remedy for what ails you. First created almost 100 years ago by Dr. Edward Bach, these homeopathic formulas contain essences of almost 40 different flowers. Although their effectiveness has not been conclusively proven, anecdotal evidence indicates that Bach remedies may be useful in helping heal emotional conditions.

Olive

If you're suffering from a lack of sleep or are completely exhausted from trying to balance work, home and personal demands, you may want to choose the Bach flower essence olive. Olive is meant to help you regenerate body, mind and spirit. Add two to four drops of olive essence to a glass of water four times daily for several weeks or until you start feeling greater vitality.

Wild Rose

Let's face it: Sometimes life doesn't go as planned. Your co-worker gets the promotion you wanted, your relationships seem stuck, or you simply feel unsatisfied with your lot in life. The Bach flower remedy wild rose may be useful when you are bored, feel no joy in life, derive no satisfaction from your accomplishments or are resigned to your less-than-ideal fate. Like olive, add two to four drops to a glass of water, four times daily until you feel like life holds more joy and excitement.

Walnut

Whether you're experiencing menopause, moving to a new location, starting a new job, leaving a long-term relationship or retiring, walnut flower essence may be able to help you adjust to new circumstances and new phases in life. It may also help if you know you need to make a change and just don't think you have the courage or resolve to do so. Take two to four drops in a glass of water four times daily during major or minor life changes.

Rescue Remedy

If you keep only one Bach flower remedy as part of your natural emotional first-aid kit, Rescue Remedy is the one to choose. It contains five flower essences: star of Bethlehem for trauma and shock, rock rose for terror and panic, impatiens for irritability and tension, cherry plum for fear of losing control, and clematis for being more emotionally present in life. You can use Rescue Remedy for any type of physical or emotional trauma, after injuries, or simply to help you through difficult experiences. Like the other remedies, take two to four drops in a glass of water four times daily for as long as necessary.
