Neutrogena Products for Acne

Acne is a common skin condition with symptoms that include inflamed lesions, blackheads and whiteheads. It occurs typically when the pores of your skin become clogged and infected with bacteria. Neutrogena is one of many skin care companies to offer several cleansers and treatment products designed to help you overcome acne. Most people will find self-treating acne with over-the-counter Neutrogena products effective, but the National Institutes of Health recommend consulting a dermatologist for stronger products if the acne doesn't go away after several months.

Oil-Free Acne Wash: Redness Soothing Gentle Scrub

The redness-targeting skin cleanser promises to reduce skin irritation and redness visibly thanks to chamomile and aloe vera. Its active ingredient is salicylic acid, which the University of California says is effective for treating acne by helping to open clogged pores. Aloe vera may also help reduce acne, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Oil-Free Acne Stress Control: 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment

As its name suggests, the 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment targets three problematic skin conditions often related to acne. Its active ingredient, salicylic acid, treats acne lesions, while moisturizers hydrate the skin, and cucumber and green tea extracts help reduce skin irritation and redness.

Rapid Clear: 7 Day Intervention Kit

Neutrogena designed its intervention kit as an all-in-one solution for acne. It includes a skin cleanser that helps remove dirt and skin grease, as well as small vials of salicylic acid to help target and clear up acne. Each dose of cleanser and acne treatment is pre-measured into individual packets intended to be used over seven consecutive days.

Skin iD

Skin iD is Neutrogena's flagship acne product kit. After answering a quiz about your acne and skin conditions, either on Neutrogena's website or via telephone, Neutrogena creates a custom three-step acne product kit. Each kit includes a cleanser, an acne treatment cream and a moisturizer. The active ingredient in its treatment is benzoyl peroxide, which Columbia University says kills the acne-causing bacteria and helps unclog pores.

Advanced Solutions: Acne Mark Fading Peel

Your troubles may not be over once you've overcome your acne. You may be left with dark marks on your skin where the acne once was. Using a proprietary enzyme and a high concentration of salicylic acid, Neutrogena's skin peel helps accelerate skin cell turnover to fade and erase post-acne skin marks.
