5 Ways to Incorporate Exercise With Dr Oz's Diet

1. Take a Walk

Walking is a free and easy way to get your exercise program started. Dr. Oz suggests that you walk at least 30 minutes each day to get your fitness routine started. Walking is a great exercise because it increases your stamina, strengthens your heart, bones and muscles and improves cognitive function and mood. Build up your steps each day until you reach the 10,000-step mark. Park further from your grocery store than normal, take the long way through the house during chores and walk to your co-workers desk with important documents or messages instead of emailing or sending through company mail.

2. Lift Anything to Weight Train

Get those muscles working with a little weight training. Lifting weights, a dumbbell, your grocery sacks or even your toddler gives great health benefits in a short time frame. Aim for a total of 30 minutes each week in lifting or weight training. You will notice more strength, muscle tone, better posture and flexibility.

3. Increase Your Cardio

Boost your heart rate for an hour each week to stay on the right track. You have to work up a sweat to push your heart toward better health. Exercising your heart regularly is a predictor of how healthy you are and how long you will live. Dr. Oz suggests you divide the cardio workout into two 30 minute or three 20 minute sessions. The short sessions fit into your schedule without too much rearranging. You will have more energy and notice an increase in your mood after the first cardio workout. It is a great motivator in your exercise program.

4. Go Ahead and Fidget

Fidgeting is a huge calorie burner. You burn millions of calories every year without even thinking about it. This is a fantastic exercise because you can do it anywhere. It is fun, free and you do most of this exercise automatically. Go ahead and twiddle your thumbs, bounce your legs and pace when you talk on the phone.

5. Stretch to Success

Protect your body with stretching as you move through the Dr. Oz diet. Stretching is a great way to increase flexibility, range of motion, prevent injury and reduce stress. You can stretch almost anywhere and will get great results from stretching after your cardio or after a long day at the office. Stretch your way to improved circulation and better posture, two things that will increase your success in your exercise program. From Yoga to school age gym stretching, you can find something that fits into your exercise routine with minimal effort.
