Sometimes, zanamivir can lead to an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction include swelling of the face, tongue or throat, hives and difficulty breathing. Go to the emergency room when zanamivir leads to these effects. Avoid taking zanamivir when suffering with such diseases as chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder or asthma. This can lead to bronchospasm, a condition in which breathing becomes very difficult. Zanamavir is available as an inhaler and two inhalations are taken every 24 hours for five days.
Amantadine
