Weight Watchers has been helping people lose weight for 45 years. The Healthy Weight Forum says the Weight Watchers weight-loss plan focuses on making balanced food choices with regular exercise and group support. Each Weight Watcher food choice is given a point value based on nutritional content. Weight Watchers reports that food points take into account calories, fat and fiber. Low-calorie foods with fiber are lower in points than high-calorie, high-fat foods. To help participants with food choices, Weight Watchers has developed a line of food items that can be purchased in grocery stores.
