Kawasaki is one of the main competitors in the motocross industry. Kawasaki motocross bikes have brought motocross championships to riders such as Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart. Kawasaki develops motocross bikes that cater to the entry-level young athlete all the way to the expert adult rider. All standard Kawasaki motocross bikes feature stylish green, black and white racing designs on the plastic and seats; you also can purchase a Monster Energy version of each bike type with black and silver graphics.
KX65
With a seat height of 29.9 inches, the KX65 is the smallest motocross bike Kawasaki offers. It is intended for use by young children for entry into the sport of motocross in the Mini class. The bike features a two-stroke, liquid-cooled, 64.7cc race engine, race chassis and disc brakes. The suspension is designed to provide the best performance possible for a small bike on a large-scale motocross track. The KX65 features a manual clutch rather than automatic gear shifting, which helps prepare the rider for larger bikes.
KX85
When a rider has outgrown the KX65 but is still not tall enough for an adult bike, he can move up to the KX85, which also competes in the Mini class ranks. With a seat height of 33.1 inches and a more powerful two-stroke, 84cc engine, the KX85 can support a junior racer until he is ready for entry into the adult-sized bike class.
KX100
For young riders who have outgrown the KX85 or are too old to compete in the Mini class any longer, but are not yet ready for the first-level adult class, called "Lites," the KX100 spans the gap between the two classes. With its slightly higher seat height, stronger frame, larger wheels and tires, and faster two-stroke, 99cc engine, the KX100 is built to withstand rugged riding from larger youth without sacrificing speed.
KX250F
With a seat height of 37.6 inches, aluminum frame and a high-revving, 249cc, four-stroke engine, the KX250F has secured multiple championships in the Lites class. The chassis balance and suspension is specifically designed with race-experienced riders in mind and delivers a smooth, stable ride in even the roughest of track conditions.
KX450F
The KX450F has garnered multiple supercross and motocross championships in the Premier class, the biggest engine-size class in motocross racing. The KX450F features a powerful, four-stroke, 449cc engine with a powerband and chassis specifically designed for more rear-wheel traction, which is paramount in race starts. The KX450F is best operated by experienced riders and is intended for grown adults or professional teens.
