1. Early to Bed, Early to Rise
When you begin the Body for Life Diet, you are committing to 6 days of exercise per week. One of the easiest ways to incorporate this strict exercise program into your life is to wake up and workout right away. By doing this, you will get your metabolism going early in the day and you will have more energy to get you through your day. To make it easier to workout first thing in the morning, you should go to bed a little earlier than normal. It is also a good idea to get your exercise gear together at night and have it ready so that you can get going as early as possible in the morning. If you choose to workout in the morning, you may want to eat breakfast before you workout to give your body fuel for the exercise.
2. The Buddy System
The Body for Life Diet requires you to do 3 days of strength training and 3 days of aerobics per week. This can get boring. Finding a workout buddy can help you to stick to this strict exercise schedule. When you look for a friend to workout with you, it is very important that you find a person who has the same exercise goals as you. She should be at about the same fitness level as you are so that you can do all of the exercises together. Keep in mind that your workout buddy will be a source of motivation for you. She should be able to encourage you to push yourself when you are exercising. By the same token, you will be her motivation. If you are unable to find one buddy to workout with 6 days a week, make a workout team. Get a few friends together so that you always have at least one person to workout with you each day.
3. Make it a Priority
The exercise program that goes along with the Body for Life Diet is very important if you are serious about losing weight. You may find it necessary to schedule your workouts to be able to be able to workout 6 days per week. You will have to make your exercise program a priority. Write down your workouts in ink on your calendar. If you use a PDA, cell phone or other electronic scheduling program, make your exercise schedule a recurring event. Remember that it isn't enough to simply write it down, you have to follow the workout schedule that you set up.
