1. Come On, Let's All Do the Wu-tang
Doing the hip hop "Wu-tang" dance is considered to be a fairly easy to learn. It's a popular and a quite catchy move that blends well into most routines. The Wu-tang is a movement that the hip hop dancer does on the "top rock" or in a standing position. The hip hop dancer just needs to plan their transition move or step to go right into the Wu-tang.
2. One and Two and Criss and Cross
To start the Wu-tang, criss-cross your arms in front of your upper waist with swing to the beat of the music. Then, swing the arms out as you uncross. Swing the forearms down to your sides with the beat and "snap" your fingers. The forearms swing back to the beat and then repeat with the criss-cross of the arms. This is what your arms are doing in the Wu-tang movement. It's cross the arms (count one), uncross the arms ("and"), snap down (count two) and repeat. So, it goes, one and two, three and four, five and six, seven and eight.
3. Let the Legs Get in on the Wu-tang
The feet and legs have their own jobs to do to complete the Wu-tang move. As you're doing the arm movements to the counts, start working in the knees and legs. Lean to the left as you do the arms; when you snap down on count two, bring your right knee up. The knee/leg goes back down on the "and." So on you go by crossing your arms again on the count three; on "and" uncross the arms. On count four, snap down while you bring up your left knee. Just keep doing the movement over and over to gain confidence, so you can do the Wu-tang without even having to think about it.
4. Put Intensity Into Your Wu-Tang
Keep it loose and get into the beat of the music. Make your movements exaggerated. You need to stay with the music beats rather than getting faster and faster. Instead, put more into your steps and movements. Bend the supporting knee when you snap down bringing up a knee. The intensity put into your movements gives the impression of the Wu-tang being a more difficult step.
