Several weight loss diets promise an ideal model's body in exchange for a costly diet and impractical fitness plan. The Model Diet Plan requires participants to spend money and time on a short-term weight loss plan.
Diet Plans
Modeldietplan.com offers tips and nutritional advice from real models. This advice ranges from exercising to increase metabolism, consuming a daily aloe vera supplement and never eating chocolate. Out of the many diet plans and tips, the most highly recommended tip appears to be calorie restriction. Calorie restriction is good for short-term weight loss, but it is not feasible for weight maintenance as it alone will not increase metabolism. The calorie restriction diet plan estimates that decreasing intake by about 500 calories will lead to 1 lb. of weight loss per week. One hundred calories is about the equivalent of one carbohydrate serving, such as a slice of bread or a medium potato, or one fruit serving.
Fitness Plans
Just as the Model Diet Plan offers a variety of advice, the Model Fitness Plan is very broad and not a specific exercise method. Exercise increases metabolism. Increasing exercise intensity helps the body to maintain weight loss. According to Modeldietplan.com, models love yoga and Pilates. Doing these exercises through classes or instructional video 3 or 4 times per week may contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Other model fitness recommendations include hiking, taking the stairs rather than the elevator, and parking the car far away from the store in a parking lot. One exercise described to help increase abdominal muscles is called the reverse crunch. The reverse crunch entails lying on your back and placing your hands behind your head, bring your legs up into the air until your knees are at a 90-degree angle, curl your hips off the floor and push your legs toward the ceiling, repeat this move for 12 to 16 repetitions.
Body Image
Model diet and fitness methods can be used to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but because the diet is a goal and not a regimen, falling short of the desired results could lead to an unhealthy mental state or extreme unhealthy eating. Too much value is put on weight loss and not enough focus is on the healthy lifestyle alone. Body fat composition alone does not cause disease, which is why it is important to live a healthy lifestyle regardless of body size. Extreme diet and fitness plans often lead to rebound weight gain worse than the original weight. It is best to have a healthy lifestyle and mental state and attitude in regards to body image.
