Latin dance has become a favorite lifestyle activity and is a great way to stay in shape. Get the long and lean look of a dancer while also keeping your body fit with cardio workouts. Rent Latin dance videos/DVDs from a local video store and do salsa dance workouts at home. Try it before you purchase workout videos or spend money on classes. Most popular and well known exercise video celebrities now either include salsa steps in with their aerobics workout, or they include entire salsa routines in their exercise videos. If you end up buying a few of these videos/DVDs, you won't need to leave home to do salsa dance workouts.
2. Classy Latin Moves
Participate in a group exercise class at a gym or an aerobic dance studio to do salsa dance workouts. Because of salsa's popularity, you'll find many gyms and health clubs have either started Latin dance classes or have aerobic classes with some salsa integrated into the dance steps. You can do salsa dance workouts through other clubs/locations too, such as some yoga/Pilates studios. You don't need a dance partner for most of the exercise classes including salsa. It's just like other types of individual dance classes ballet, tap and jazz) where you line up, usually facing a mirror, and follow the lead of a dance or an aerobics instructor. If you want to take it further, you can usually find instructors who teach salsa lessons one-on-one.

If you decide to get serious about ballroom dancing, you'll need a partner, and you can begin to join competitions once you have developed your dance skills. Latin dance is a huge part of ballroom dancing, and not only will you learn salsa, but you'll also learn other types of Latin dance, such as tango, rumba, samba, cha cha and paso doble. Do salsa dance workouts as a regular part of your ballroom dancing repertoire.
4. Adult Summer Camp
Also, do salsa dance workouts at a mastery camp while you learn other forms of Latin dance and other types of ballroom dance from workshop classes. Learn at a beginner level or pick up where you last left off with dancing, and take intermediate or advanced classes from dance professionals. You don't need a partner to attend ballroom dance mastery camp, but you can bring one if you like.
