There's no need to break the bank and visit your favorite spa for a body wrap when you can pamper yourself with one at home. A heated herbal body wrap opens pores to absorb potential benefits of the herbs, and some enthusiasts say it eliminates impurities in your body. Select herbs for the wrap such as chamomile to soothe your skin or lavender to help you relax.

Step 1

Bring 2 1/2 qts. water to a rolling boil in a 3-qt. pot.

Step 2

Add 6 tbsp. fresh herbs to the boiling water. Remove from the heat. Cover the herb water and let it steep for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Spread one plastic sheet over a reclining lounger, a bed or an air mattress.

Step 4

Heat three blankets in the dryer until they are warm but not too hot to hold. Spread one heated blanket on top of the plastic sheet. Spread the second plastic sheet on top of the blanket. Continue heating the remaining two blankets while you prepare the body wrap.

Step 5

Pour the warm herb water through cheesecloth and into a large bowl. The cheesecloth will strain the herbs from the water. Discard the herbs. Pour the water back into the pot.

Step 6

Soak 8-inch-wide bandages thoroughly in the herb water. Cover the pot to retain the heat. While the bandages are soaking, remove the remaining two blankets from the dryer.

Step 7

Spread both warm blankets, one on top of the other, over the top of the second plastic sheet.

Step 8

Remove the bandages from the herb water one at a time. Wring them out and wrap them around your body. The bandages should be only as tight as a knee sock; they shouldn't cut off your circulation.

Step 9

Lie down between the two top heated blankets. Relax for at least an hour.
