Help?!?!

I dont want to be getting in trouble but i need help understanding washington states consent law.

i under stand the age is 16--however; when i went and actually read the law it says that rape is commited if the younger is between 14-16 and the older is more than 48 months (4 years). So cant technically a 15 1/2 year old and a 19 year old have consensual sex?

She is under 16. Wait until she is 16. At that pount she does not need any consent other than her own. Keep in mind, no matter how old she is, can still cry rape. Once she is 16, and she consents, your age, as long as you are over 16, does not matter.

if you are two years apart and under the age of 17 you should not be having consentual sex with a person over the age of 18. its just not right the question and statement you put should be commen sense. would you wanna have sex with a kid or somebody more mature and your OWN AGE!!!

first of all xpandaxlover you should finish school because you can't spell. pregnant thats how you spell it so your focus should have been school not men that are to old for you.now you will be raising a child with the help of the goverment and no education. ane he needs to be in jail he left a child over here wtih a child that he doesnt have to take care of.....

I am trying to find out the Florida law for a male 16 year old and female 14 year old. I know the legal age is 18, however there seems to also be references to older than 16 having sex with older individuals, but nothing about 16 having sex with younger. Anyone have advise?

stownie, yea he can def do jail time, they don't care if ur in love or w/e. Law is law and sadly i've had a friend who was in the same situation and he ended up doin small amount of time in jail, and also on probation for a sexual offender for the rest of his life

FOR ALL YOU IDIOTS OUT THERE.....This means that until you reach this age, you can not legally have sex with anyone, regardless of whether or not you or your parents consent. which means if u ain't old enuff you can do jail time IF YOU GET CAUGHT OR IF SOMEONE TELLS ON YOU. whether if be ur friend or ur girl, of say u two break up and u had sex, she can still go to the police and you can face jail time and probation. and you will be on sex offenders for the rest of ur life.

One. You cant get in trouble having sex under the age of ur state with another perosn under that age either...
they call that consensual sex if ur both under the legel age to have sex
Second. you cant go to jail for someone just saying u had sex with someone.. it doenst work like that.
They would have to do a rape test and then have either the parnets of the underage girl or boy ask if thye allow them to have consensual sex. if that happens then the legal age kid has a good possible of going free

Keep in mind that laws are constantly changing and new laws are constantly being added. Also remember that the law is the law. Love, parental consent and any other factors have nothing to do with it. If you or the two of you break the law you may be prosecuted and convicted. It is ALWAYS the older one who goes to jail or prison. The term "Jailbait" is no joke. Hello to you all, please help me with this, Im in Mississippi and the age of consensual sex is 16 . I am 28 and she's 16 , she will turn 17 next january, I love this girl to death and she does love me too, shes hispanic and Im too. And want to marry her in the future. It's good to get information out but it's better if they don't mislead with the wording. For example: "These laws exist because some teens are not mature enough to know that their actions have consequences. The law makes sure that young people are not exploited by adults."

It doesn't just exist because some teens aren't mature enough, but also because even more preteens are not. Furthermore, many postteens may not be mature enough either, yet 18+ receive no protection if they aren't informed enough, not unless they're so far gone as to be declared retarded or something. Furthermore, the law doesn't make sure that young people aren't exploited by adults, because many adults still exploit young people.

It just decreases (different from eliminating) sexual exploitation. Even then, it still occurs illegally. One wonders, if one had a legal alternative, one could seek out a law-abiding partner who may be less abusive, as opposed to restricting it to those who break laws?

I'm 19 and my girlfriend is currently 15. We know the risks decently, so I have decided not to sleep with her until she is 16. But, I've also heard that someone was arrested and imprisoned, even though the 16 year old girl told them it was consensual because her parents charged him. I don't know if this is accurate or not, as the law in the state is 16. So, I need to know if it would be safe for us to sleep together or not. I'm 25 and the girl in which I share a mutual interest is 17. She lives in FLA and she was trying to tell me that the age of consent over there is 16 if your partner is 24 and 17 if they are 25. This sounds a little suspect to me, so that's why I am here. I'm a 16 year old female in Ohio, very shortly to be 17. At 14, I met a Canadian guy who ocassionally visits family here (age 21) and we knew the gap was WAY too big, so we agreed to be "friends" who wanted more,..I guess you could say. We've been very good about waiting to do anything illegal. I know AoC in Ohio is 16 with the 4 year limit. He is about six years older than me, now 23 years old (birthday in May). We have since I turned 16 agreed to date LDR..So technically this law means I have to wait until 18 to have sex with him, right? I just don't understand because he is Canadian and I dont know how that applies to nonresidents of the united states. Does it change anything for me to say both of my parents are aware and approving of this relationship?

I need help. My 16 year old son has been accused of having sex in a school bath room with a 14 year old girl. His girl friend for the past few weeks. He denies the accusation but they were seen going into the bathroom together on camera. They had actually just met less than an hour before. But anyway the question is with him being 16 and her 14 almost 15 is there any legal action that her family can take even though nothing happened but she claims it did. She has accused someone else of touching her inapproprately last year at another school we found out. Not sure if it was reported but she told her mother this.

Generally with age difference, from skimming over several websites, there IS NO LAW FOR DATING, but any sexual contact under 16 can get you in trouble. What can you do on a date? As long as the girl's parents have consent to date, holding hands, kissing in the back of the cinema, no crime there! <

If I then go to America can I then have sex with a 23 year old or do I have to stay at the law of the state I'm in?
