Stretch marks occur when during rapids period of growth, the skin becomes overstretched. The overstretching causes a disruption in collagen and leaves behind reddish and purplish indentations on the skin, which can fade to a more silvery color that's lighter than your other skin over time. Bodybuilders, pregnant women and adolescents going through puberty are more likely to develop these blemishes. Before trying more aggressive methods, you may want to try an at home remedy like Zenmed Stretta to remove stretch marks. Zenmed Stretta can be purchased through the company website or through certain beauty supply stores. Keep in mind that there is no evidence that over-the-counter topical creams are effective at removing stretch marks, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Step 1
Shower before use. Bathe before you plan to apply Zenmed Stretta to the skin. Wait a minute after exiting the shower before application.
Step 2
Apply a small amount of the cream to the hands. Rub into the areas of the skin where stretch marks appear. Wait until the solution is dried before dressing. Wash your hands after you have finished applying the cream.
Step 3
Repeat application twice a day. The manufacturer recommends twice-a-day applications unless the skin starts to become irritated. You can then reduce application to once a day. It may take anywhere from six to eight weeks until you notice a difference in the appearance of the stretch marks.
Step 4
Limit sun exposure. Zenmed Stretta may cause sun sensitivity. Wear clothing pieces to conceal areas of the skin that you have applied the cream. You should also consider wearing sunscreen while outdoors. Choose versions with SPF 30 or higher.
