Home Remedy for Scar Removal

A scar is a mark on the skin that forms after a wound has healed. Your skin is very delicate, and any kind of burn, surgery or injury can cause the development of scars. Scars can look unattractive, especially if they appear on your face, neck or arms. Many factors can influence how your skin will scar, including the location of the injury and the size and depth of the wound. Scars are removed not just for cosmetic reasons, but also due to discomfort caused by the location of the scar. While scars cannot be completely removed except by surgical means, it is possible to reduce the appearance of many scars so they are essentially removed.

Step 1

Pour 1 cup honey in a blender with 1/2 cup dry oats and 5 tbsp. aloe vera gel. Puree the mixture and transfer the mixture to a clean bowl or container. Cover it and set it aside.

Step 2

Take a 10- to 15-minute shower to help prepare and moisten your skin. Use a moisturizing bar or liquid soap to cleanse your skin. You can also use a bath sponge or loofah sponge to help exfoliate your skin, removing dead skin cells.

Step 3

Dip your fingers in the honey mixture and apply it to the scars. Massage the mixture in a circular motion and leave it on for one to two hours.

Step 4

Rinse your skin with water and a washcloth to remove the honey mixture. Apply this remedy once daily. All the natural ingredients in the mixture are rich in antioxidants. These antioxidants help lessen the scars by removing the older skin layer and helping new, smoother skin to form. The mixture is effective for all types of scars, whether old or fresh. Using this honey mixture every day will help fade scars in about four to five months.
