4 Ways To Weigh Pros And Cons of the Body for Life Diet

1. Consider the Cost

Bill Phillips developed the Body for Life Diet. He is also the founder of a company, EAS, which sells nutritional supplements. The Body for Life Diet is a 12-week program that centers on intense dieting and exercise. In addition, Body for Life representatives recommend that you take certain supplements sold by EAS, such as Myoplex. The supplements that you take are determined by your overall goals, lifestyle and activity level. Some of these supplements are fairly expensive.

2. Exercise is Essential

The Body for Life Diet program requires that you follow a challenging exercise program. You have to strength train for 45 minutes, three days per week. In addition, you have to do 20 minutes of aerobic training three days a week. This schedule leaves you only one day a week without an exercise commitment. A week on this program would mean that Monday, Wednesday and Friday you strength train. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday you have to do aerobic exercise. You then have Sunday as a rest day. If you have a job that requires long hours or if you have children, you may find this schedule difficult to stick with for the full 12 weeks of the program.

3. You're Always Eating

You have to eat six meals per day on the Body for Life Diet. This means that you have to become a grazer, which can become a challenge if you have a job that isn't flexible. You will have to make sure that you have foods that are on the plan available at all times, especially if you will be away from home for more than a couple of hours. The good news is that because you graze all day long, more than likely you won't get hungry. The foods allowed on this diet are limited. Planning your menu ahead of time is necessary to ensure that you get all of the required foods daily. There is only one day a week that is an exception to this rule. The day that you don't exercise is your rest day and you can eat anything that you want to eat without exception.

4. Motivation and Support

The Body for Life Diet is a strict 12-week program. If you have a good support system and a lot of motivation, it may be easier for you to follow this very difficult program.
