Zone Perfect all-natural nutrition bars come in four types--Classic, Fruitified, Dark and Indulgence. Among these four types there are also numerous flavor choices. For this reason, nutritional values vary for each specific bar, as different ingredients are used to make each type and flavor. Values given are for an adult on a 2,000 calorie per day diet and are from the following four bars: Zone Perfect Fruitified Banana Nut, Indulgence Caramel Toffee, Classic Chocolate Coconut Crunch and Dark Chocolate Almond.
Calories
The calorie content varies slightly among the four bars. The Indulgence Caramel Toffee bar contains 180 calories, while the Classic Chocolate Coconut Crunch bar contains 210 calories. The Fruitified Banana Nut and Dark Chocolate Almond bars contain 200 and 190 calories respectively.
Protein
Although the Classic Chocolate Coconut Crunch bar is higher in calories, it also provides more protein than the other bars, with 15 g per bar. The Indulgence Caramel Toffee bar provides only 11 g, while the Fruitified Banana Nut bar provides 14g and the Dark Chocolate Almond bar provides 12 g.
Sugar and Carbohydrates
The Classic Chocolate Coconut Crunch bar also contains more sugar than the other bars. It contains 18 g while the other three bars contain between 12 and 14 g. All four bars are similar in carbohydrates, with each one containing between 21 and 24 g, which is 7 to 8 percent of the Daily Reference Intake (DRI).
Fat
All four bars contain 6 g of fat, although the Fruitified Banana Nut bars are lower in saturated fat than the other bars. All four bars contain zero trans fat.
Minerals
All Zone Perfect bars are fortified with minerals, but the values for some minerals still vary from bar to bar. The Classic Chocolate Coconut Crunch bar, for instance, provides only 2 percent of the DRI for potassium, while the Dark Chocolate Almond bar provides 5 percent. Calcium also varies significantly among the bars, with the Fruitified Banana Nut bar supplying 20 percent of the DRI and the other three bars supplying only 10 percent. The iron content, however, is constant among the bars, with all four supplying 10 percent of the DRI. All four bars also supply 10 percent of the DRI for magnesium.
Vitamins
Zone Perfect Bars are also fortified with vitamins. All four bars are quite high in vitamin E, providing 90 to 100 percent of the DRI. The range for vitamin C, however, is quite large, with the Dark Chocolate Almond bar providing only 10 percent while the Classic Chocolate Coconut Crunch bar and Fruitified Banana Nut bar provide 100 percent. The Dark Chocolate Almond bar is also lower in vitamin A, supplying only 10 percent. The Indulgence Caramel Toffee bar provides 20 percent of the DRI for vitamin A and the other two bars provide 35 percent. The vitamin B content is quite constant among the bars, with all four providing 20 to 25 percent of thiamin, 35 percent of B 12 and 40 to 50 percent of riboflavin, niacin and B 6.
