Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder that affects as many as 1 in 110 children. Affected children often exist in their own worlds and need specialized therapies and assistance to navigate everyday situations. Early intervention is one of the most effective ways to help autistic children learn the skills they need.
What Is Pet Walk For Autism?
Pet Walk for Autism is a fundraiser that benefits Today's Hope, an organization that brings early intervention services to children who otherwise would not be able to afford it. It is an event for the whole family, with activities such as games for kids, food, and the dog long jump. Prizes are awarded for best-dressed pet, longest dog jump, and more. The event is held annually east of Seattle.
