Vitamin E oil has numerous positive effects on the skin's health and appearance. The oil can be taken daily as a supplement, and you'll also see it added to numerous skin care products due to its restorative properties. It is also included in many acne products to help heal blemishes and reduce scarring.

Combats Free Radicals

According to the National Institutes of Health, vitamin E is full of antioxidants that help protect tissue against free radicals, which are molecules that can damage cells. The NIH points out that the cell damage that comes with repeated exposure to free radicals can increase the risk of cancer or other diseases. Antioxidants combat these destructive agents and keep tissue healthy.

Decreases Signs of Aging

When free radicals absorb into the skin in the form of harmful agents, such as ultraviolet rays or cigarette smoke, they can cause wrinkles and accelerate the aging process. Vitamin E oil helps combat these damaging free radicals and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Reduces Acne Scars

The Acne Resource Center points out that the same properties that enable vitamin E to reverse the damage caused by free radicals can be applied to acne damage. Vitamin E can help the skin recover from the damage associated with acne, including reducing the appearance of acne scars.
