Symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection can include vaginal itching, burning, pain during intercourse and a thick white colored vaginal discharge. Only a physician can accurately diagnose a vaginal yeast infection by preforming a vaginal examination and testing vaginal fluids under a microscope for the presence of yeast. Women who experience vaginal itching and discharge should consult their gynecologist.
